A tipper truck loaded with stones left two persons severely injured after it ran into the Awutu Bereku market in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The incident also destroyed six shops in the process. According to the police, the accident occurred as a result of a brake failure.
The driver and his assistant sustained serious injuries as well and were rushed to the Awutu Bereku Health Centre for treatment .
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) was called to the scene to help victims and as well tow the vehicle which was still stuck in one of the containers.
NADMO Director for Awutu Senya West, Razak Ibrahim also announced that government will take responsibility for the damages caused.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament George Andah, who visited the victims, has paid for their hospital bills.
