The Ministry of Information has made available its social media handles to be used for the promotion of business innovations and activities of social entrepreneurs in the country.
The project known as “amplified” is seeking to give entrepreneurs a larger platform to exhibit their work and promote their social course.
Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah speaking about the concept of the programme disclosed that the social media handles of the Information Ministry has grown it’s followership over the years and intends to leverage it to showcase the good innovations by entrepreneurs in the country.
The project is targeting three categories of areas that need some attention.
“The three categories of things that we have decided to lend this platform to are young entrepreneurs, people doing social protection programming and people involved in some sort of mentorship for youth. So there are lots of young people doing interesting entrepreneurial stuff and as part of this project we will ask anyone interested in being showcased or amplified to the world to put in application so that they can be heard and all manner of people can see or hear their activities.” he noted.
He added that although the handles are supposed to be used for communication, this can also be an added advantage for entrepreneurs and social workers.
“Traditionally we use these handles solely for government communications, but we think that as part of doing some social good, we should also avail this platform for young mentors and people doing social projects so they could also reach a larger audience.
The programme is expected to be launched Thursday 27 May 2021.
