The Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene has expressed concern about the high decadence among the youth and called for the use of culture to transform and improve on moral uprightness among the youth.
She made this call when the Faith Tabernacle Church of the Assemblies of God Ministries unveiled it's Youth Temple in Abesim, a suburb of Sunyani.
She counselled the youth to avoid the rush for wealth and noted that progress in life goes beyond the accumulation of material things.
"The youth of today seem to be rushing. Those of us born in the 60s and early 70s, if you compare our lives to that of those born in the late 80s, our fathers worked and worked till the could raise money to buy wireless but life was peaceful and enjoyable.

"Today, we have almost everything that human beings want to have but we are not at peace because the youth of today are rushing," she added.
Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene called on members of the church to contribute towards instilling good morals into the youth adding that "I wish some of you will be part of my administration so that together, we can fix good morals and ethical values, our socio-cultural values into our youth".
Head Pastor at the Faith Tabernacle Church, Rev. Joshua Kere attributed the status quo to leadership and societal failure and said it was necessary to appreciate moral values ahead of material wealth.

"It's unfortunate and I think that it's a societal problem and like I said, everything starts with leadership. We are living in a society where people are no longer received, respected and recognized because of the matured values they possess but by the weight of their bank accounts, the quality of their pockets".
He noted that "since everybody is fighting for the recognition, when the youth sees this, that is what provokes the desperation to also make money so they'll be seen as successful".
Guest speaker at the function Rtd. Rev. Moses Sumaila admonished the youth to be patient and submissive to the older generation as a means of helping change the status quo.
