Angilo Institute of Fashion has launched its maiden edition of street fashion exhibition to showcase intricate Ghanaian and African designs.
The designs were created by its students in a street fashion show dubbed ‘Angilo fashion to the world’.
The event which drew a large crowd of fashion enthusiastic passers-by started with brand activation on the pavement of TMA.
It saw students displaying some of their unique creations and products like bridal wear, office wear, caftan, accessories among others on the streets of Tema Community 1.
The program was held to project the creative talents and skills of students to the residents of Tema and Ghanaians at large. The Fashion show is an integral part of the school’s curricula.
The show served as a platform to promote new talents for the future of creative design and bridge the gap between graduation and employment challenges facing many graduates.
According to the CEO of the school, Angelina Matey, the main objective of the programme was to produce entrepreneurs to take up their own in the business world after graduation, whilst seeking to empower them to be able to market their products in Ghana and beyond.
The street fashion show brought a unique international presence into the Ghanaian creative industries through some of the creative works exhibited by the students.
Head Principal of the Institute, Pearl Pkor hinted that this is just the first of many more to come and asked the public to look forward to other such events at other locations in Tema and Ashiaman in the coming weeks.
The institute also used the occasion to recruit interested new students who were offered a 20% discount on fees as part of the promotion.
