The Goaso Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, Emmanuel Opare Yeboah, has entreated Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to assist the less privileged families in educating their brilliant children.
“We as MSMEs should not see corporate social responsibility as a preserve for the big multinational companies.
We can start to help poor families with every little resource at our disposal and even if it is just school uniform, it will be beneficial to them so let us wake up,” he stressed.
Mr Opare Yeboah was speaking during the presentation of a scholarship package to ten pupils from the Abesim enclave in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region.
The ¢5000 scholarship package was awarded to support the education of the ten beneficiary pupils selected from ‘poor’ homes.
Presenting the cheque to the beneficiaries in the presence of their parents, the Goaso Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited said the support represents the company’s little contribution to help better the lives of the less privileged in society.
Mr Opare Yeboah stated, “this package is a fraction of ASA Savings and Loans’ generous support for thousands of pupils and students across the country as part of our corporate social responsibility”.
He further pledged the financial institution will continue to prioritise the economic advancement of its customers with tailored services and products for MSMEs as well as other charitable supports.
One of the beneficiary school children’s mother, Hannah Mensah, explained funding the education of her children has never been smooth.

The 37-year-old hairdresser described the philanthropic gesture of ASA Savings and Loans as very handy and commendable.
“I am a mother of four and I have been practising as a hairdresser for the past 11 years and no organisation has ever demonstrated this kindness to me and my children.
“I just can’t imagine a company like ASA will take it upon itself to support our children’s education. This gesture truly shows their commitment to helping improve our lives, it is highly commendable,” she added.
Ms Mensah appealed to other benevolent individuals and organisations to extend their helping hands to the numerous poor households within the Abesim area.
