President of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has urged women to take bold decisions to reach greater heights in their careers.
Dr. Wiafe Addai noted that women are also qualified to hold and excel in key positions.
She said this at an event at Bompata, a farming community in the Asante Akyem South District in the Ashanti Region. The event provided the opportunity for free breast cancer screening for women.
She cited former Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, former Speaker of Parliament, Joyce Bamford-Addo as women who occupied and excelled in key positions in the country. She did not leave out current Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremah Opare.
“There are a lot of women who have potential like those mentioned above that can be of great benefit to the country, but realizing and taking bold decisions towards their dreams to materialize is the major challenge that confronts them,” she added.
Dr. Wiafe Addai entreated women to believe in their God-given potentials, and work towards realising them.
“Let’s believe in ourselves. Let’s have the spirit of ‘I can do it’ and let's boldly grab opportunities that come our ways."
On his part, Country Director for The Hunger Project Ghana, Samuel Afrane said his team will continue to build sustainable community programmes to improve the lives of women in the rural areas.
