British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) winner, Leila Djansi is back to the movie scenes after a Covid-19-induced break with the release of new material boasting of Hollywood’s finest legends of Black American cinema.
Urbanflix and NYLA films released the trailer for the indie film “The Men In My Life,” which stars Rochelle Aytes (Swat) as a struggling LA actress who becomes saddled with caring for a mother with a debilitating ailment, a father addicted to crack and a past she must confront if she is to have a future.
The film also stars Emmy Winner Obba Babatunde (John Q), Ella Joyce, Wesley Jonathan and Ghanaian superstar Ama K Abebrese.

Shot on location in the Dominican Republic, the film’s release was delayed for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, suffering the same fate as several other indie films.
Movie buffs can catch the film streaming on Prime or UrbanflixTV, the latest streaming service dedicated to celebrating Black and Brown voices in film, television and beyond.
