Former Executive Vice President of Unilever in Ghana and Nigeria, Yaw Nsarkoh, says marketers are faced with the battle of degeneration.
According to him, if marketers are engaged with the people, they must stay on the side of regeneration to secure the long-term health of society.
Yaw Nsarkoh made this comment at the 6th International Advertising Association (IAA) Africa Rising Conference in Accra on September 6, 2023.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Building Future Ready Brands,’ the brands expert advocated more liberty, gender-equal opportunities, and a fraternity that is in line with the guiding principles of marketers.
“Marketers must try to create through what they do, share dignity and prosperity to allow fellow human beings to live up to their full potential,” he said at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.
He urged that "marketers, you and I and all else, rise up for regeneration."
“The battle of regeneration is not going to be fought from cozy centres, we must go where the poll are, understand and really commit to improving, there are a lot,” the Unilever Ex-President said.
The Africa Rising conference plays host to some of the most influential marketing communications professionals from across Africa and the rest of the world.
With 5 editions since 2015 and over 400 participants each year from around the world, Africa Rising continues to lead the charge in building a vibrant MarCom industry across the continent and ultimately spreading the IAA’s agenda across the region.
