President of the Ga Adangbe Council and member of the Central Planning Committee for the funeral of the late Queen mother of the Ga state, Nii Ayikoi Otoo, has extended an olive branch to all to disregard what he describes as distraction and join them in giving a befitting farewell to the late mother of the Ga state this weekend.
This comes after an order of interim injunction placed on the funeral was set aside by a high court.
Reading excerpts of the ruling, the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice said the high court in its ruling stated categorically that "the order of interim injunction was made in error."
The move by the disgruntled faction to go to court for an injunction to be placed on the funeral only harms the Ga state and frustrates the parties involved, Mr Otoo said.
"We have spent so much time and money, travelling to invite dignitaries, chiefs and politicians who are holding themselves in readiness to come and mourn with us, only for that bombshell to be released. So we had to go to court today to deal with the matter once and for all," he said.
He also argued that the initial order which purportedly placed an injunction on the funeral was in itself "misinterpreted".
"There is no order anywhere and we have every right to proceed with what we were doing," he noted.
Mr. Ayikoi Otoo spoke at a press conference at the forecourt of the Ga Mantse palace in Accra Thursday afternoon.
The ruling now paves the way for this weekend's funeral for the late Queen mother of the Ga state, Naa Dede Omaedru III.
