Yah Nii Armah Blackwell is the first royal son of house “ Adu Kpono “ Kinkawe Quarters. And is professionally recognized as “Yahu Blackwell.”
On May 4th, 2024 — Yahu Blackwell has been crowned as the new Osu Lumor, the first ever recorded Noryaa Mantse in the history of the Osu Monarchy.
Ruling and reigning under the stool name “King Nii Armah Gbejelor The First” by HRM Teteete Nii Nortey Owuo IV of the Osu Paramount Stool.
This historic installation also marks him as the first Osu chieftain from the 400-year Osu African diaspora.
Hailing from the Gadangme people, Yahu Blackwell's lineage traces back to ancestors who were taken as slaves from the Osu Slave Castle during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
Their slaveholder was the Joseph Blackwell family of England.
Later settling in Northumberland, County Virginia (USA), stripping them of there GaDangme heritage and bestowed upon them the Blackwell name.
High highness King Gbejelor “the first” (Yahu Blackwell) will directly oversee the future development of Osu on a global, political, and social scale.
