CGIAR, the world’s largest global agricultural innovation network, will participate in the 39th edition of Ghana's National Farmers' Day Celebration.
CGIAR will share cutting-edge research on sustainable agriculture and food security; host interactive sessions on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable farming practices; and engage with stakeholders, including through hands-on demonstrations of products and services.
"The National Farmers' Day Celebration offers a unique platform for CGIAR to connect with the agricultural community in Ghana," said Dr. Olufunke Cofie, CGIAR Ghana Convenor and International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Regional Representative for West Africa.
“Our participation will focus on strengthening our participation with the Ghanaian farmers and showcase our work. We are here to share, learn, and collaborate towards a sustainable agricultural future."
As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change and food insecurity, CGIAR's involvement in this prestigious event underscores its commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural development through innovative research.
CGIAR engages directly with farmers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and position itself as a provider of smart solutions for agricultural resilience and food security.
This year's celebration takes place under the theme of "Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience," in Tarkwa, Western Region, on 1 December, 2023, with precursor activities at Agrifest Ghana 2023 in Accra from 27 November to 1 December.
