Former Blacko Stars Head Coach, CK Akonnor, has thrown his weight behind current boss Otto Addo amid the growing pressure on the team.
Ghana were held to a frustrating goalless draw at home against Sudan, which has seriously dented the team’s chances of qualifying for the next AFCON in Morroco.
Ahead of the second leg against the Sudanese who are coached by former Ghana boss, Kwesi Appiah, Akonnor has called for support for the Black Stars in this difficult time.
“It’s a challenging period we find ourselves in, but it’s important we stick together and support the team.
“It is important we win our remaining matches. Sudan are a good team coached by someone we all know and respect. I however believe we can win.
“This Ghana side is capable of winning and winning convincingly. We just need to support him,” he said in a Joy Sports exclusive interview.
Ghana have an opportunity to climb above Sudan with a win on Monday, a result that will breathe life back into their qualifying campaign.
