Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has emphasised the country's dedication to integrating innovative green solutions into infrastructure.
Speaking at the launch of a transformative solar energy project at the National Information Technology Agency in partnership with the communication ministry and RIFE Energy Ghana, she indicated that government is looking to partner key stakeholders within the energy sector.
“We're building a greener and more digitally empowered Ghana through technology, sustainable energy, and shared commitments, and that is the way of the future. In conclusion, let me congratulate NITA and all the partners who've played an instrumental role in bringing this transformative project to life”.
“This initiative is more than a technical achievement. It's a powerful statement of our dedication to innovation and sustainability. Under the theme, Empowering Ghana's Digital Future through Sustainable Energy Solutions, this project exemplifies our unwavering commitment to integrating renewable energy into our national developmental agenda", he said.

Director General at the National Information Technology Agency Richard Okyere-Fosu said ”The advantages of the project extend far beyond operational savings. Through incorporating solar power, we align ourselves with Ghana's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy and SDG 13 on climate action. This project actively reduces our carbon footprint and contributes to a more sustainable future for Ghana".
Director at RIFE Energy Ghana, Dr. Kwaku Osei Sarpong reiterated the company’s commitment to support Ghana’s energy sector.
“RIFE Energy Ghana is committed to delivering solutions that reduce costs, enhance energy security, and contribute to global sustainability goals. This project underscores our mission of empowering growth through clean energy, showcasing what is possible when expertise meets commitment", he mentioned.
The theme of the event was , "Empowering Ghana’s Digital Future Through Sustainable Energy Solutions".
It underscores a pivotal truth: the backbone of Ghana’s digital transformation is energy.
