President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Banjul, The Gambia, as part of a two-country visit to both The Gambia and Senegal.
The visit is aimed at expressing gratitude to the Heads of State of these two West African nations for their participation in Ghana's presidential inauguration ceremony held on January 7.

In addition to the diplomatic gesture, President Mahama's visit underscores his commitment to strengthening the longstanding relations between Ghana and its West African neighbours.

Following his time in The Gambia, the president will proceed to Senegal, from where he is expected to return to Ghana later today, Friday, January 17.
