The leadership of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has vetted a total of 237 individuals aspiring for the positions of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) over the past two weeks.

The vetting process, which concluded in Ho on Tuesday, January 28, saw 30 female and 207 male candidates participate.

The aspirants represented various districts across the region, with 13 candidates from Hohoe Municipality, 9 from Kpando, 15 from Afadzato South, and 30 from North Tongu.

Other districts represented included 20 from Central Tongu, 10 from South Tongu, 12 from Ketu North, and 16 from Ketu South.

Additionally, 7 candidates were vetted from Akatsi South, 16 from North Dayi, 9 from South Dayi, and 13 from Ho West.

Agortime Ziope had 8 aspirants, Adaklu had 7, Ho Central had 17, Anlo had 17, Keta had 12, and Akatsi North had 22.

According to Kafui Agbleze, the Volta Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, the vetting process was smooth and efficient.
