Inter Milan missed the chance to go top of Serie A as the defending champions fell to defeat at Juventus.
After leaders Napoli were held to a 2-2 draw at Lazio on Saturday, victory would have left Simone Inzaghi's Inter side first at the end of a matchday for the first time since September.
But Francisco Conceicao's 74th-minute finish proved decisive in Turin to leave Inter two points behind 2022-23 champions Napoli.
Atalanta are three points further back in third after their goalless draw against Cagliari, while Juventus climbed back into the top four on goal difference from Lazio.
While it was only Inter's third defeat of the campaign, it was their second loss in three games - and they have won just once in four.
Conceicao settled a close encounter after Randal Kolo Muani turned brilliantly inside the penalty area with quick feet to trick a couple of defenders, before rolling the ball into the path of his team-mate to slam home.
That came shortly after Juventus goalkeeper Michele di Gregorio had pushed Marcus Thuram's first-time shot on to the post to keep the score level.
Denzel Dumfries also produced a superb goalline clearance from Teun Koopmeiners' shot to keep Inter in contention, but Inzaghi's title chasers were unable to salvage a point despite their pressure in the closing stages.
It was a third consecutive league win for Juventus, who have still only lost once in 25 league games this season.
They will now turn their attention to progressing in the Champions League on Wednesday, having won the first leg of their knockout phase play-off against PSV Eindhoven 2-1.
