The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, organised the 2025 Kumawu MP’s Teachers Awards on Monday, 17th February 2025, to honour outstanding teachers and non-teaching staff in the constituency.

The event featured a range of prizes, including refrigerators, a motorbike, new television sets, cash rewards, and certificates of recognition.

The ceremony aimed to celebrate excellence in education and acknowledge the dedication of educators who contribute to shaping the future of young learners.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, 19th February, Mr Anim emphasised the crucial role teachers play in society.

“In my speech, I emphasised the pivotal role teachers play in shaping a great society—their selfless sacrifices, unwavering patience, and unrelenting dedication are the reason our children have a brighter future,” he stated.

He reaffirmed his commitment to improving education in Kumawu, highlighting the need for innovation and technological advancement in schools.

“I reaffirmed my commitment to education in the Kumawu Constituency, which is one of progress, innovation, and empowerment—a vision which prioritises the strategic integration of technology, equipping our students, schools, and teachers with essential tools they require in this digital era,” he added.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including representatives of Barima Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua II, the Kumawumanhene, as well as key stakeholders in the education sector.

Among them were Mr Kwame Oduro Owusu, the District Director of Education, and Dr William Kwame Amankra Appiah, the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, who was represented by Mr Henry Osei Boateng.

Also present were members of the clergy, heads of security services, and other invited guests who joined in celebrating the honourees.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr Anim commended all those who contributed to the success of the event.

“I extended my warmest congratulations to all the honourees, comprising both teaching and non-teaching staff. I also expressed my heartfelt gratitude to Barima Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua II (Kumawumanhene), who was represented by Nana Akwasi Agyekumhene, Mr Kwame Oduro Owusu (District Director of Education), Dr William Kwame Amankra Appiah (Ashanti Regional Director of Education), who was also represented by Mr Henry Osei Boateng, the clergy, heads of security services, dignitaries, and everyone who made this august ceremony a success,” he stated.

The event underscored his dedication to recognising and supporting teachers in their efforts to shape the future of Kumawu.
