A story of compassion and quiet generosity has surfaced involving renowned businesswoman Rashida Saani, who donated $25,000 to fund a life-saving kidney transplant for her former colleague, Claus Ansah Acquah.
The heartfelt gesture came to light after Mr Acquah, now fully recovered and back in Ghana, shared a moving tribute on social media to mark Rashida’s birthday.
In his post, he recounted their days working together at Metro TV and e.TV, though they were not particularly close.
“At the end of her program each day, she would quickly get in her car and drive off without hanging around to chat,” Mr Acquah wrote.
“But I understood she had other professional commitments.”
A decade after they had parted ways, Ms Rashida came across Mr Acquah’s GoFundMe campaign appealing for support for a kidney transplant in India.
Without hesitation, she contacted his wife and covered the entire cost of the surgery.
“She didn’t just save me—she saved an entire generation,” Acquah wrote.
“We’ve tried again and again to thank her properly, but she shuns the spotlight when it comes to her acts of kindness.”
When reached for comment, Rashida offered a simple response: “Helping people when they need it is the human thing to do. We all need help at some point in our lives.”
She added that she hopes Claus “lives life to the fullest” following his successful recovery.
This isn’t the first time Rashida Saani has stepped in quietly to support others.
According to several sources, she has a consistent track record of helping individuals facing hardship, always behind the scenes, and without seeking recognition.
“Ms Rashida, you wiped away my family’s tears,” Acquah concluded.
“Your kindness and generosity are unmatched. May God continue to bless you abundantly.”
