The October 3 election will determine who takes over the party’s general secretariat for the next term, with Mr Kodua seeking to retain the position against three challengers.

Vetting of aspirants is scheduled for August 31 to September 3, with the results expected on September 5. Appeals will be heard from September 6 to 7, while the national delegates are scheduled to vote on October 3, 2026.
