The Manager of Menscook, Wisdom Obeng Nyarko (WON), has revealed that although the company currently operates as an all-male team, they plan to admit women in the future as part of their commitment to inclusion.
Speaking on The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and JoyNews, he explained that the company initially began with men, and their success in a female-dominated industry led them to maintain that setup.
“We naturally started with men, and over time, we realized this gave us a unique position in a female-dominated market, so why change a winning team?” he said.

He reiterated that the company also aimed to change the societal stereotype that the kitchen is solely a woman’s responsibility.
“We cater for weddings a lot, and we wanted to send a message to grooms that cooking is not a woman’s duty alone. If we, as men, are cooking at your wedding, then when you marry, you too can cook at home. There is nothing wrong with men cooking,” he said.
However, he stated that as the company continues to expand, they foresee the need to bring women on board, particularly for administrative roles.

“As the company grows, we also need a special place where we will need women. We are also about inclusion. So in the future, we will have women,” he stated.
He clarified that the cooking team will remain male, but women will be brought in to handle back-office operations.
“We will have women joining the administrative and operations side of the business. It’s not going to be all men forever. But our chefs will be men,” he added.
