The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) Ghana has expressed its deepest sorrow and condolences following the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including senior government officials and members of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In a statement released on Thursday, August 6, the church said it was “deeply saddened” by the news and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
“On behalf of the leadership, pastors, workers, and the entire membership of the Ministry across the nation, we convey our deepest condolences to the President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the government, and the people of Ghana at this difficult time,” the statement read.
DCLM also offered special support to those mourning their loved ones: “We especially reach out in love and prayer to the grieving families who have lost their dear ones in this devastating incident.”
Recognising the dedication of those who died in the crash, the church added: “We recognise the faithful and sacrificial service of the departed, and we honour their memory with deep reverence.”
Calling on the nation to remain strong in faith, the Ministry said, “We pray that the God of all comfort will stretch forth His everlasting arms around the bereaved, granting them grace and divine strength. May the peace of God that passes all understanding keep the hearts and minds of our national leaders and citizens during this trying time.”
The statement encouraged Ghanaians to turn to faith and unity in this difficult period: “Let us, as a nation, look to the Lord in this hour of grief, trusting Him for healing, unity, and renewed hope. Though we do not understand all things, we are persuaded that the Lord reigns in righteousness, and His counsel shall stand.”
The church closed its message with a word of hope and remembrance: “May the souls of the departed rest in the bosom of the Lord, and may their labour never be forgotten. ‘The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…’ – Deuteronomy 33:27.”
