Wa Power SC demonstrated resilience as they battled back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Yapei FC in their match-day eight 2025/26 Division One League clash on Sunday in Buipe.
The home side started strongly, taking an early lead in the third minute through Christopher Gyamfi. Both teams had chances in the first half, but finishing errors kept the scoreline narrow, and Yapei went into the break ahead.
Wa Power grew into the game after the interval, gradually dominating possession and creating more threatening opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when substitute Clinton Ofori pounced on a loose ball inside the box to slot home the equalizer, leaving the home side dejected.
The point extends Wa Power’s unbeaten run to three league matches, comprising two wins and a draw, highlighting their growing consistency this season.
The team now turns their attention to their next fixture, a home encounter against Sankara Nationals at the Wa Malik Jabir Stadium on Sunday, 7 December 2025.
