Wa Power SC will travel to Yendi on Sunday, October 5, 2025, to face Sankara Nationals in the 2025/26 Division One League.
The Wa-based side anticipate a tough contest as they aim to build on their opening-day success. Their opponents, newly promoted Sankara Nationals, will be full of confidence after securing an impressive draw away to Real Tamale United in their debut league outing.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs at any level of competitive football.
Playing at home for the first time in the Division One League, Sankara Nationals will count on the backing of their fans to make a statement in front of their Yendi faithful.
Wa Power SC, however, will rely on their experience in the division to secure a positive result from what promises to be a challenging fixture.
Their head coach David K. Nyaaba expects a tough encounter but remains confident in his players’ readiness.
“We made a few mistakes during our matchday one encounter against Yapei United, and we’ve worked on that during the week’s training,” he said in his pre-match interview.
Both sides will be eager to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign, setting up an intriguing northern clash in Yendi.
