The task force responsible for guiding the establishment of Ghana’s new national airline is set to submit its findings to President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, December 23, signalling a major step forward in the government’s plans to revive the national carrier.
The 10-member committee’s report is expected to provide detailed recommendations, highlight key findings, and propose a roadmap for the operationalisation of the airline, following months of technical assessments and consultations with industry stakeholders.
The government constituted the task force to examine the airline’s viability, potential organisational structure, financing models, and possible partnerships, while ensuring compliance with international aviation standards and regulations.
The report’s submission will inform the next phase of decision-making, including the approval of policies, timelines for implementation, and strategic plans necessary to launch a functional and sustainable national airline.
The task force, chaired by Charles Asare, former Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, comprises experts in aviation, finance, and infrastructure development, bringing extensive experience to the planning and advisory process.
