President John Dramani Mahama has firmly dismissed rumours suggesting that he owns the Chain Homes residential estate, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.
Addressing residents during a community interaction at the estate on Monday, December 22, 2025, President Mahama explained that his presence in the neighbourhood had nothing to do with ownership.
He said he and his family moved there only after struggling to find a suitable place to rent elsewhere.
According to him, a privately owned house within the estate had been handed over to Chain Homes for rental purposes, and that was how his family eventually settled in the area.
He stressed that the decision was purely a matter of accommodation and not investment.
Touching on the long-standing speculation about his alleged ownership of the estate, the President responded humorously, noting that if the rumours were true, residents would have purchased their homes illegally.
He jokingly suggested that homeowners who made payments to the developers should demand refunds and redirect the money to him, underscoring his point that he has no ownership interest in Chain Homes.
