H.E. Sabah Zita Benson, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, is determined to lead through direct engagement rather than from behind a desk.
Her vision emphasizes connecting with the Ghanaian community in the UK, listening to their concerns, and making the High Commission more accessible to the people it serves.
Over the weekend, the High Commissioner visited two churches in Birmingham — The Church of Pentecost, UK PIWC Birmingham, and Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International.

During these visits, she met with members of the Ghanaian diaspora, discussed their concerns, and highlighted the Commission’s commitment to inclusive and responsive leadership.
“These engagements are central to our work,” H.E. Benson said.
“By connecting with the community, we gain firsthand insight into their needs, which allows us to ensure our policies and initiatives truly serve the people.”

The visits underscore a new approach to diplomacy by the Ghana High Commission in the UK, focusing on community-based outreach as a key strategy. By stepping out of the office and into local communities, H.E. Benson is demonstrating that effective leadership requires accessibility, dialogue, and a personal touch.
