Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has appealed to delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to strongly support former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the party’s forthcoming flagbearer election ahead of the 2028 general polls.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah said Dr Bawumia stands out among the contenders because of the clarity of his ideas and the potential of his policy proposals to positively change lives across the country.
According to him, the NPP requires a candidate whose vision can resonate with voters and secure victory in the next national election.
“He is winnable and he has the character we need,” the Ofoase Ayirebi legislator stated. “He comes with life-transforming ideas that Ghana needs at this time. As a party, we want ideas that are compelling enough to win us power.”
He made the remarks in a video message shared on social media, where he emphasised that Dr Bawumia’s record and forward-looking proposals place him in a strong position to lead the party into the 2028 elections.
Dr Bawumia, who is seeking the party’s nomination, has been on an extensive nationwide tour, engaging delegates across several constituencies to outline his vision for the country and the party.
After recent engagements in parts of the Ashanti Region, including Ejura-Sekyedumase, Mampong, Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo and Afigya Kwabre North, Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude for the reception he received.
“I once again received overwhelming endorsement from delegates, and I am deeply grateful. We are winning together on January 31,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
