Some residents of Mim in the Ahafo Region reportedly assaulted a security officer, popularly known as Obonto, after allegedly finding him with a female student of Mim Senior High School at his residence.

However, the management of the school has denied claims that the security officer had sexual intercourse with the student.

According to the school authorities, preliminary inquiries involving both the security officer and the student indicate that no sexual activity took place between them.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2026, after the student, who is a boarder at the school, visited the security officer in town.

The school management explained that the student had gone to the officer to request a birthday gift. The officer allegedly asked her to accompany him to his residence, where he intended to give her a bottle of champagne.

The two reportedly travelled together by Pragia to the officer’s residence. While they were inside the house, some residents reportedly arrived and accused the security officer of having sexual relations with the student.

The residents then allegedly assaulted the officer before the matter was reported to the police.

The school management has since clarified that its interaction with the two individuals did not establish that sexual intercourse had taken place.

Both the security officer and the student have reportedly been taken into police custody to assist with investigations and provide statements regarding the incident.

Authorities are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the encounter as investigations continue.
