Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has held a closed-door meeting with the newly elected Ashanti Regional executives of the NPP at his office in Accra.

The delegation was led by the newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA.

The meeting forms part of Dr Bawumia's ongoing engagements with all newly elected regional executives following the party's regional elections.

Addressing the executives, Dr Bawumia reiterated his call for inclusion and unity within the party to ensure victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2028.

The former Vice President urged the new Ashanti leadership to bring on board all stakeholders, including those who contested and lost in the regional elections.

"I reiterate my call for unity and the inclusion of all stakeholders, including those who were not elected, for the task ahead because 2028 will require all hands on deck," Dr Bawumia told the executives.

He stressed that the reorganisation exercise—from the polling station, electoral area and constituency levels to the regional elections—is a stepping stone towards building a strong vehicle to reclaim power in 2028.

"The goal for all of us is to win the 2028 election. This is just a stepping stone towards winning 2028. We must unite, we must organise, and we must win in 2028. I am committed to working with all of you and every member of our great party to achieve that," he added.

For their part, Chairman COKA and his team pledged their unflinching commitment to working hard to strengthen the NPP in its stronghold and secure victory in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dr Bawumia has, since the NPP regional elections, met a number of elected regional executives, including those from the Greater Accra, Central, Western and Savannah regions.
