Laryea Kingston has made another emotional defence of his commitment to the Black Stars and asked his club manager to stop using that against him.
Kingston has angered Hearts coach Laszlo Csaba after refusing to sit out Ghana's World Cup qualifier against Sudan at the manager's request.
Csaba claims Kingston is not fully fit but he insists he can play. Now he has compared his affection for the Black Stars to a soldier's commitment to his nation at time of war and says nothing will make him alter that.
“I have played for a lot of clubs but I can only play for one national team,” he told Peace FM.
“I am like a soldier who must stand up for his country at anytime. If he has an issue against me, he should say it and stop using my commitment to the national team as an issue against me.”
Laryea's deal with Hearts expires next summer and even though his agent has said there are plans for an extension, the disagreement over his national commitment could affect that.
Kingston missed out on Ghana's first World Cup in 2006 after picking up a suspension at the Nations Cup that same year and is desperate to ensure he earns a spot in Milovan Rajevac's party to South Africa.
