Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Col. Rtd. Cyril Necku has called on the church to partner government in bringing change into the lives of Ghanaians.
He says the church can do that by meeting the spiritual and some of the physical needs of its members.
He was speaking at a National Convention for members of the Lord’s Pentecostal Church International at Ho.
Over 3,000 members of the Lord’s Pentecostal Church International, who came from across the country, converged at Ho since Wednesday for this year’s Convention.
Speaking on the theme of the convention: Reaping the Harvest, Col. Rtd. Cyril Necku called on the church to partner government in building a new Ghanaian equipped both spiritually and physically to move the nation forward.
He also wants the church to complement government’s efforts by meeting the needs of their members half-way. He praised the church for its development projects, especially a new clinic it is building for the people at Tokokoe.
The General Overseer of the church, Apostle Richard Buafo called on Ghanaians to learn to control their tongue to prevent offensive language which sparks violence. He announced the church’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary which comes off in 2011.
The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Kotobisah pledged to help complete work on the Church’s clinic project, and to complete road works on the Ho - Nyive road which connects Ho to the church’s National Prayer Centre at Tokokoe. The church made a special donation to the Ho Leprosarium.
