The Restoration Temple of the Osu International Central Gospel Church has held a blood donation exercise as part of activities to climax the Fathers' Day event.
The exercise was spearheaded by the Mighty Men of Valour, the men's ministry of the church.
In the wake of the twin flood and fire disasters which claimed over 150 lives the city's major hospitals have been appealing to the public to donate blood to help treat surviving victims.
As part of the Men's week celebration the church decided to heed to the call of the Korle bu Blood Bank for donors to replenish the blood stock.
Shortly after the special Fathers' Day Service on Sunday the members of the church volunteered to donate blood as a gift to fathers.

Prior to that though, the pastor in charge of the branch Rev Ashford Tawiah Smith in a sermon titled "Responsible Father" said fatherhood is a bedrock of the country's development.
"If all fathers will be responsible to families, the country at large will benefit," he told the congregation.
Sharing the six pillars of fatherhood, Rev Smith said a father is a source of seed and must make sure the seed germinates into good fruit.
Without a good foundation, any structure will crumble, he observed and challenged fathers to build a solid foundation for their children.
He also admonished fathers to be nourishers, teachers and a guide for their families.
