The Asante Mampong Police on Monday arrested 18 suspected criminals, including two females, at their hideout at Nsuta, Mampong-Tadiem, Kofiase-Junction, Bofour, New Daaman and Bobin.
Aged between 15 and 52 years, they are suspected to be engaged in drug peddling, robberies, pick pocketing and other criminal activities.
The police retrieved from them bags of cannabis and some dangerous implements.
Mr Oduro Kwateng, Asante-Mampong Divisional Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency that they would be screened and those found culpable be prosecuted.
He repeated the determination of the police to fight criminals to enable the law-abiding to live in peace.
Chief Superintendent Kwateng appealed to the people for support by reporting the miscreants in their midst.
He vowed to protect the identity of informants in the municipality.
