Ghanaian goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey is set to be out of action until July, ruling him out of the Black Stars’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius next month.
The 28-year-old Portland Timbers ‘keeper picked up a hand ligament injury on April 16 and was expected to be out for approximately a month.
However, Timbers coach Caleb Porter revealed on Monday that the Ghanaian will in fact be out until July, according to ESPNFC.
The complication to Kwarasey’s injury has ruled him out of Ghana’s AFCON qualifier in Mauritius – where a win will secure their place in Gabon 2017 – as well as a friendly against Guinea in France on May 28.
Kwarasey should be available again when the Black Stars complete their AFCON qualifying campaign in September with a home clash against Rwanda.
