Asante Kotoko PRO Jerome Otchere has labelled the PRO of Bechem United, Bismark Danso, as a big joke after he accused the Porcupine Warriors of bribery.
Danso had stated his club were approached by Opoku Nti and two officials of Kotoko to play it soft in their FA Cup quarterfinal clash the Porcupine Warriors.
For Otchere, these claims are simply ridiculous.
“Nobody at Kotoko sorted to play a fixed match and nobody at Kotoko wanted to play a fixed match.”
“The Public Relations Officer of Bechem United is a big joke considering the kind of attitude they portrayed on the field of play and their goalkeeper who wasted most of the time.”
Jerome Otchere was adamant the Public Relations Officer must be called before the ethics committee.
“The PRO should be called to the FA to answer questions because such allegations tarnish the image of the club and the sponsors as well because we all know the club have some big sponsors so accusing them with such allegations tarnishes the image of the club and the FA should call him to order.
“He has already admitted that Opoku Nti was joking with that statement so why should you come out and say that Kotoko wanted to bribe the referee.”
“For me it is a serious allegation and if Opuku Nti will be investigated, that is fair enough but to say the club wanted to bribe the referee for a fixed match, he is tarnishing the image of the club and Ghana football as a whole and I still maintain that he is a big joke and he shouldn’t be taken seriously.”
“Bechem United won the game fairly and anybody who will say Kotoko wanted to play a fixed match should be called to the FA’S Ethics Committee and I still maintain that he [Bismark Danso] is a big joke and shouldn’t be considered.
Reports indicate Kotoko might formally write to the ethics committee about the conduct of Bismark Danso.
