Hearts board member, Frank Nelson, believes the lack of a headline sponsor in the ongoing league has been detrimental to the progress of clubs.
The 2016 league has been without a sponsor after First Capital withdrew its services, a move which the executive committee member feels is killing all clubs.
“The lack of sponsorship is affecting every club but at the end of the day we can’t do anything about it because the time First Capital Plus pulled out was a very bad timing.” Frank Nelson told Asempa Sports in an interview.
“The economy is also affecting corporate institutions to make sponsorship available but I strongly believe that we will get a sponsor to sponsor the league next season. It has affected most of the clubs.
“People think because Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are big clubs with huge supporters so they don’t feel the pains but it is not like that because we are all feeling the pains. The bigger you are, the bigger your problems.
“The smaller clubs also feel the pains so we will come together and deliberate on how we can get sponsorship for the league because it is not easy to play the league without sponsors.” Nelson added.
