An organisation to store files and manage records for corporate companies was launched in Accra on Tuesday, with a call on banks, insurance companies, universities and other institutions to engage the services.
West African Document Warehouse Limited (WADW), a specialised record management company, is a branch of The Document Warehouse (TDW) in South Africa.
Mr Craig Johnson, Director in-charge of Global Service Offering, TDW, said companies that would patronise their services could concentrate on their core business while the organisation managed their files and records effectively.
"West African Document Warehouse will remove your filing with minimal disruption," he noted, adding that filing and record management was a profession on its own.
Mr Reginald Techie-Menson, Managing Director of WADW, said there were many organisations in Ghana that had problems with proper storage of data for the future.
He explained that the company could undertake off-site and on-site document storage as required by the clients and in addition, provide electronic document management where files are scanned to reduce storage space.
On security, Mr Techie-Menson, assured clients and potential clients that there were security measures in place to protect documents submitted.
Nii Tackie-Tawiah III, Ga Manste, who chaired the function, noted that there was the need for security for "the little pieces of papers" that meant a great deal in daily transactions and urged Ghanaian companies to patronise the services.
