A District Magistrate Court in Enyinase has convicted Madam Esther Agbanyo, a store keeper, to a fine of GH¢600 or to serve two years in jail in default.
Chief Inspector Samuel Gyarteng told the court that on January 25, officials of the Ghana Cocoa Board Anti-Cocoa Smuggling Unit arrested the convict for having sold cocoa spraying chemicals which were to be given to farmers free of charge.
He said a member of the task force bought a bottle of Confidor and Akita Master from the convict.
The prosecutor said a search conducted in her store revealed quantities of Akita Master, confidor, ridonil and nordos all of which were not for sale.
