Designer shoes made in the style of horses' hooves have gone on sale for £1,300 a pair at the Cheltenham Festival.
The knee and ankle-length zip-up hoof boots were created as the perfect thing to wear for a day at the races.
Each one features an imitation carbon-fibre hoof and up to 5,000 individual genuine horse hairs.
Fashion designers were commissioned by betting company Betfair to create the boots to celebrate 100 years of the festival. All proceeds will go to charity.
Andy Lulham from Betfair said: "As one of the most prestigious events in the horseracing calendar we wanted to celebrate the centenary of Cheltenham in style.
"Not only will our punters win bigger with Betfair, but they'll also be a shoe-in for best dressed on course."
Louise Dainton, 25, from Essex, who posed on a turf catwalk wearing the human horseshoes, said: "They are really comfortable and make you feel like you want to get on the track and gallop down the final furlong.
"I'm not sure they are for everyone, but I definitely want a pair of hooves."
