Champions, Aduana Stars gave their hopes of a top-four finish and a possible continental place a real boost after victory over leaders, Berekum Chelsea at the Dormaa Park on Wednesday.
Joseph Mugri's first half goal sealed all three points for Herbert Addo's side and cut Chelsea's lead at the top to 12 points as Asante Kotoko could only draw away with six games to go.

Hearts of Oak eased themselves away from the drop zone following a 1-0 home win over Ebusua Dwarfs.
Douglas Nkrumah struck for Hearts in the first half to move them to 11th place.
Medeama Sporting Club rallied from a goal down to draw 1-1 with AshantiGold at the TNA Park.
King Faisal slipped into relegation after losing 3-1 at home to Wa All Stars.
Faisal drew first blood when Asuandzie Baffoe opened the scoring after eight minutes.
But the Blues rallied back strongly in the second half with Frank Sarfo Gyamfi scoring in between Tijani Lawal's brace.
Bottom side, B.A. Stars recorded their 15th defeat of the season at the Gyemfis Park in their 4-1 loss to New Edubiase.
Samed Ibrahim, Basit Adams, Ebenezer Ofori and Alhassan Nuhu all scored for Edubiase while Seidu Duada got a consolation for the relegation-bound side.
Michael Helegbe scored for Liberty Professionals as they held on their 1-0 lead in the match against Berekum Arsenals marred by crowd troubles at the Golden City Park.
Heart of Lions drew goalless with Mighty Jets at the Kpando Park.
