Ghana’s leading newspaper The Daily Graphic has lost one of its top journalists Lucy Adomah Yeboah.
The award-winning journalist passed away after a short illness. She died on Friday morning, Citifmonline. com can confirm.
Adomah was considered as one of the top health reporters in Ghana and has won several awards with the most recent one coming from the 2010 GJA Awards.
Colleague journalists especially from the Graphic Communications Group are heartbroken and her facebook wall is inundated with tributes.
"Why, don't you know female journalist hardly die? You've deepen my hatred for 2011. Farwell big sister!" Hadiza Nuhhu Billa Quansah said.
Peggy Ama Donkor of GTV said: "OMG. Jesus Christ, What and how? Sis Lucy why so soon? Sister God knows best. We shall all go but as to when and how nobody knows."
"God be with u till we meet again. This is a big blow to me," a colleague at Daily Graphic, Donald Ato Dapatem, said.
Becky Kwei added: "Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest. Lay down thy head upon thy saviour's breast, We love thee well, but Jesus loves you best, Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight."
Maurice Quansah also stated, "Lucy! Lucy! ! Lucy!!! This is too much. So my visit to your bedside at Korle-Bu on Wednesday was the last time the two of us would meet and talk. The pain is too much to bear, but I pray your gentle soul will find rest in the bosom of the Lord."
Adomah held a first class degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon, and also a Higher Diploma from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Accra.
She attended TKSS, Kumawu and St Monica's Girl Boarding School, Asante Mampong. She was survived by a kid.
