The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom on Tuesday for a Conference of Conservative Parties.
The 2011 International Democrats Union (IDU) Party Leaders Meeting will be held in London on 10 and 11 November, 2011, hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron and the British Conservative Party.
Nana Akufo-Addo, leader of Ghana’s New Patriotic Party will speak on: “Strengthening Freedom and Democracy in the 21st Century” and will also participate in Plenary sessions of the IDU Party leaders and the IDU Executive Committee as well as meetings of the Asia-Pacific Democrat Union, the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs to be Chaired by the Hon David Lidington and the IDU Regional Unions.
The British Prime Minister, Mr David Cameron is expected to address the meeting of IDU Party leaders whilst Foreign Secretary, Mr William Hague will deliver the Keynote speech at the meeting of the IDU Executive Committee.
IDU Party Leaders meetings are held once every three years and participation will include a number of heads of government and party leaders from around the world.
Nana Akufo-Addo will also attend the Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR) conference also in London on 11 and 12 November, 2011.
Speakers at the AECR conference who will also participate in the IDU conference include His Excellency Petr Nečas, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and Leader of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), His Excellency Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, Rt. Hon. William Hague, MP, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Rt. Hon. Baroness Warsi, Chairman of the Conservative Party, Rt. Hon. David Lidington, MP, Minister of State for Europe and Jan Zahradil, MEP, President of AECR.
Nana Akufo-Addo will be accompanied by NPP General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Director of International Affairs, Charles Owiredu.
