Joy FM’s Read 100 Project Tuesday received a massive boost from the Walk2Learn International, an educational charity organization.
The organization donated a thousand assorted books to the Read100 Project.
Explaining the rationale for the decision to donate to the Project, the Chief Operating Officer of WLI, Mr Kingsley Ansong Asiedu, who is based in the United States, said the organisation was deeply concerned about the standard of education especially for the underprivileged in the society.
“Ghana is the gateway to Africa and knowing that, we need to make sure that we have the best foundation as far as education is concerned,” he noted.
According to him, giving children literacy skills is fundamental to their growth and development and Joy FM’s Read100 Project is a noble one, and WLI was excited to be contributing to making the project a roaring success.
Mr Kingsley said just like the Read100 Project which is currently building a number of libraries in the country and hopes to build one in all the ten administrative capitals in Ghana, WLI would be constructing a library for one deprived school in the country.
