The flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akuffo Addo, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu, at his office in Accra.
The purpose of the visit was to show solidarity with the Chief Imam, ahead of the celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammed which falls on Saturday, February 11, 2012.
Nana Addo asked the Chief Imam to pray for peace in the country and to pray against any form of electoral malpractice during the upcoming elections as well as blessings for his team.
Nana Akuffo Addo highlighted the good relationship which exists between the NPP and the Muslim community and urged Muslim community to vote the NPP back to power in the December polls.
Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu prayed for the nation and asked for God’s protection for Ghana and Nana Addo.
Nana Addo donated an amount of one thousand Ghana cedis cash, five bags of rice, ten cartons of oil and ten cartons of bottled water to the National Chief Imam, to support the celebrations.
Nana Addo was accompanied by the National Chairman of the party, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, the regional secretary of the NPP, Nii Ashitey Armah, the Director of Operations, Laud Commey, the MP for Ayawaso East, Sheik I.C. Quaye and the National Coordinator for NASARA, Abubakar Sulemana-Lakulaku.
