A police man has accidentally shot and killed a middle aged-man in Kumasi, Tuesday.
Lance Corporal Eric Amoako misdirected his warning shot in his attempt to ward off two men in a scuffle at the Kumasi central market.
Luv FM’s Elton John Brobbey reported that the men were in a brawl over transport fares.
The police officer who was then on guard duty at a bank was invited to separate the two men.
Somehow things got out of hand and the men attempted to disarm the police officer who then fired a warning shot to scare the rampaging men away.
His warning shot however hit a middle aged man who was looking on at a distance.
Eric Amoako together with the two young men have been arrested and are assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased has also been taken to the Okomfo Anokye hospital morgue.
