Former Kotoko midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei, is in search of a new club after confirming his departure from Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
His time with the Ravens ended on December 4 and he has decided not to renew with the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup winners.
“Glory glory hallelujah I came to Congo as a stranger and now I’m leaving as a hero I thank God for a successful 5 seasons in TP Mazembe which ends today.
“God has been good to me for winning everything that is in football I can’t say much but all I say is thank you Lord thank you Lord all I have to say is thank you, Lord.” Adjei posted on his Facebook page.
Nii Adjei joined the team in 2012 from Asante Kotoko and he helped them win 1 CAF Champions League title in 2015, 1 CAF Super Cup in 2016, 2 CAF Confederations Cup titles, 3 DR Congolese Super Cup titles and 4 DR Congolese League titles.
In all, Nii Adjei played 164 matches (recording 10,299 minutes) for TP Mazembe and got 25 goals across his 5-year stay at the club.
Two of his goals helped TP Mazembe to win two pieces of silverware. In July this year, he scored the winning goal against rivals AS Vita in the DRC League playoffs and the other decisive goal was against Super Sport United in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup final.
The goal made the score home tie in Lubumbashi 2-1 and it was pivotal as the second half ended goalless
TP Mazembe wished the player well in his future endeavours. It is unclear where Nii Adjei will head after leaving Mazembe.
