Asante Kotoko will take on nine-time champions of Congo Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon in the preliminary stage of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup.
The draw was conducted on Wednesday, 13 December 2017, during the meeting of the CAF Interclubs Committee at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The first leg will take place in Kumasi on the weekend of 9-11 of February 2018 with the 2nd leg in Congo on the weekend of 20-21 February 2018.
Kotoko qualified following success in the FA Cup competition, beating arch-rivals Hearts of Oak 3-1 in the finals, while Renaissance, booked their ticket by virtue of placing third in Congolese topflight.
Reacting to the draw, head of Communications, Obed Acheampong, in an interview with www.asantekotokosc.com called on the club's teeming fans to brace themselves up for the campaign ahead as the club also prepares for the huge task ahead.
"The journey just started and Kotoko could move far with the combined efforts of all stakeholders of which our supporters are key," he added.
The last time Kotoko competed in CAF competition(Champions League) was in 2015, where they suffered a shock first-round exit at the hands of MC Eulma.
The winner will be up against the winner of the tie between Ben Guerdane of Tunisia and Al Hilal Juba of South Sudan.
