The murder case involving the late Abuakwa North Member of Parliament JB Danquah has suffered another adjournment, Thursday, following the absence of an autopsy report.

The pathologist, Dr Lawrence Adusei, who was said to have conducted the autopsy failed to show up in court at least for the fourth time.

It is not clear yet what is holding the pathologist from appearing before the Accra District Court with the report.

The Police prosecution says the report is central to the case which has two suspects- Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosso, currently in custody.

The two have been charged with murder and abetment of murder of the late MP.

JB Danquah was stabbed to death on the night of Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at his Shiashie residence in Accra.

The prime suspect,  Daniel Asiedu  was arrested two days after the incident. The accomplice was picked several weeks later.

Joy News’ Joseph Ackah Blay reported the two suspects appeared in court Thursday calm and quiet all through. They had appeared in and out of court for almost two years.

The prosecutors were hoping the case will proceed after three previous adjournment but the absence of the pathologist meant the case would be adjourned for the fourth time.

The defence was also quiet as the case was adjourned to January 4, 2018.

The pathologist has been served with a hearing notice to appear on the next adjourned date.

But the Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahene, who has been watching brief for the family is unhappy with the turn of events.

“We are not comfortable with the way we have been treated,” he told journalists shortly after the adjournment.

He is hoping the pathologist will finally turn up next year for the case to be heard.
