The Police officer who allegedly shot and killed a 17-year-old final year student of the Ghana Secondary Technical School at Takoradi in the Western Region is set to appear before the court, Wednesday.
Corporal Shaibu Adjei, in an unprovoked attack, is believed to have opened fire on five students leaving one dead and others injured.
The incident happened on the eve of Christmas leaving the family of Lawrence Baidoo distraught.
The family has threatened to seek justice from other sources if the police fail to take action on the matter.
But the Western Regional Police PRO, ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku says the police have taken up the matter.
"Currently, the alleged suspect who is a police corporal, Shaibu Adjei is in custody. The victim who sustained gunshots injuries as at yesterday was still on admission but responding to treatment. The dead has been sent to the morgue," she stated.
She said the police have also taken statements from eyewitnesses and the case has been transferred to the regional headquarters.
