Lawyers for Assin North Member of Parliament are crying foul over the tactics being adopted by the state over the impending prosecution of their client.
Kennedy Agyapong is standing trial for treason over a declaration of war on an Accra radio station, Friday.
Hours after the police officially charged the MP, his lawyers say they are yet to be served with a charge sheet to mount a meaningful defense for their client.
Atta Akyea who described the prosecution as “ambush litigation” also said he is yet to see his client, after he was detained on Monday.
Joy News’ Anny Osabutey reported of a late switch in courts for the prosecution of the Assin North MP.
According to him, lawyers and journalist as well as scores of New Patriotic Party supporters had besieged the High Court at the High Street awaiting the arrival of the treason suspect but were later informed that Kennedy Agyapong would now be tried at Adjabeng. They quickly moved to the new venue, he added.
But there is still no sight of Agyapong, at least not yet.
